Hey Everyone,
I really hope someone can help because i am dying here....
I went to Spain on a regular tourist visa. I was to stay there for three months but i exceeded the time limit by a month and a half.
As i went back home, the passport control people wanted to know when i entered and details, and i was truthful about my overstay.
They told me not to come back to Spain and told me to go. (literally they said :GO!)
Only when i got back home did i realize that the stamp i got was completely black, unlike my other european stamps where everything is black but the date). I don't know if i am banned from the European union as it was not stated clearly.
I have been unable to find out any information about a solid black stamp. Possibly you have been black listed as they have tightened up on overstays in the last few years. Or possibly their exit stamp did not apply for leaving so late.
The fact that they told you not to come back to Spain does not sound good.
Check out the stamp with an embassy or Customs and see what they have to say.
Obviously you cannot go back for at least 90 days from your previous visit.
You should definitely check at the embassy; don't be confrontational, just ask about the stamp and give any explanations they require.
I'm sorry this happend to you, and I hope it's not as bad as it sounds now, but I really don't understand this "playing with visa"-thing some people do It's not a bus ticket.
hey everyone, thank you for your comments
i wanted to update.
i did go to the spanish embassy after long deliberation on the matter (as i was advised by many ppl not to go to the embassy). They said that i do not have a black stamp or black listed for the matter. and that i am good to go in another half a year. I guess some things do work themselves out as i am OK with that. Living in the dark for weeks gave me a better perspective on everything.
The only reason i overstayed was because i was studying spanish in a four month course. three days after the final test, i left.
honestly, it was ridiculous of me to think nothing of the overstay. i should have organized papers from the school that would clear up the matter in the airport, now i know. i didn't think it was like the states.
i learned a lot from this experience. and i hope this helps someone out there cause really, there is no information out there on this subject.
I'm glad it all worked out in the end.
After reading your first post, I looked around for any information about "banned" passport, and it's indeed very difficult to find anything useful. Well, we're all wiser now
Good luck with the next trip!
I am Indian Citizen and got schengen Visa issued by Italian Consulate for 15 days of business visit with single entry.
Can I take flight via Germany. I dont want to enter in to Germany and just want to catch connecting flight. Does it require to apply Multiple entry Schengen visa or the existing one will suffice.
