Hi all
I'd say Germany, but you won't get the warm weather you want. There is just so much to do around Christmas like the markets and things, it's a brilliant time of year to visit! And you could definitely make it unique and it could probably be quite romantic!!
Belgium a similar thing, it's very cultural and has a warming atmosphere at festive times of the year, and can be unforgettable.
But with the warm weather thing without wanting to be on beaches or doing the average things there isn't a lot of choice. Sorry if this hasn't been of much help to you, I'm just not really bothered about it being warm myself
Have a great trip!
Actually I was considering Germany, so I will bear that in mind! I'm not that bothered usually about warm weather myself, but as the summer has been so terrible this year (even by English standards) I think my body is crying out for just a little bit of sun!
Thank you
I agree, although I recently went down to Cornwall and caught A LOT of sun lol it was fantastic :-).
But yeah Germany, it's so nice to sit and have a German beer or Gluhwein at the Christmas market and take in all of the wonderful smells and sites, it certainly makes me feel festive anyway!!
I strongly recommend that if you do go you go to a christmas market, have you ever been to one here in England?
I'd suggest somewhere in Andalucia (Southern Spain), with Sevilla and Ronda being my current two favorite cities there. It's not a completely safe bet for good weather in winter, but certainly better than the UK, and personally I've had nothing but perfect sunny days and daytime temperatures a bit above 20 degrees. Wonderful food, and interesting architecture to explore; Both have semi-worthwhile Roman ruins nearby. Ronda has the added benefit of a great countryside for hiking right at the bottom the cliff on which it's situated, as well as pre-historic cave-paintings nearby, while Sevilla's Alcazar is the next best thing to the Alhambra (also worth a visit, of course, but situated in a city which I find much less interesting).

Last Boxing Day I was on a Costa del Sol beach and it was like a hot summer's day.
Places nearby are Granada, Gibraltar, Seville, Cadiz, Malaga, Morocco, Cordoba, Valencia, Ronda, etc. Car hire is very cheap and there are lots of scenic small towns and villages about. Food - whatever you want.
Book something soon as rooms fill up and prices go up. Companies like lowcostholidays, icelolly, travelsupermarket, and the like
I've never been to neither but why not consider places like the Cape Verde islands or even India.
Im planning on a trip to India for November time so i'll let you know how l found it when l get back
How about Egypt?
Thanks everyone for your replies, must useful.
Katie – I’ve been to a winter market in Edinburgh – it was great fun, but not in England.
My two closest friends who I went RTW are going to Cape Verde in the summer so I will ask them what it is like, and I have been considering Egypt and the South of Spain too.
Anyway thanks once again to everyone who has replied.
Probably quite similar but trust me - German ones are the best!
You'll have to let me know what you decide, might take some tips on what to do christmas next year
