Hey guys,
Need some advice on a two week itinerary for Malaysia. I'll be travelling with my cousin and we will start in KL then spend the first and last night there (Petronas Towers, Batu Cave). Then fly to KK to climb Mt Kinabalu for a 2D/1N option then head over to Sandakan to see the orangutans and Probiscous Monkeys then to Turtle Island. We want to do some diving and relaxing on a beautiful island but are thinking we might be rushing if we head down to Sipadan/Semporna. We looking at heading to mid April (yes in two weeks time) and were going to repeat out original itinerary but now have to shorten it. Can anyone please give some advice on what would be a good route to follow and if Penang is worth a whole day and night there? Thanks!
Hey Charlize, I did a very similar trip to you last year going to all of the places you mentioned and would thoroughly recommend it. I have a good friend that lives near Kota Kinabalu so have been following the news recently. Are you aware of this???

Hey JamesC51, I had no idea that this was going on!! Thank you for that as I was literally about to book my tickets. Where did you go for your trip? Any recommendations and do you think two weeks was too rushed?
I'm currently in Sabah and as usual this seems to be a lot of hype by the media. All anyone says here about it, is that it doesn't exist and everywhere here in Sabah is safe. I certainly wouldn't change my plans.
I should mention though that because of the "threat" the insurance companys use it as an excuse to void your insurance if you travel here, so just be aware of that risk.
