Hey Kathryn, I get to Brisbane 29th June . Will either stay there to work or travel north towards Cairns July/August time. Going alone as well but there seems to be lots of others doing a similar route. Are you starting in Sydney? James

I'm going in mid June for 4 weeks and am starting at Adelaide then working my way up to Cairns area going through Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane....
Its also my first time travelling alone too!

im looking to go to oz late may or early june myself and in a similar position, i was looking into the oz intro and similar companies on the east coast trip pakages but the more i look into it i seem to think it may not be the best option, im thinking of maybe heading out there and then look to travel with people i meet on the way, seems to be what most peeps do, i know what you mean about being nervous im exactly the same lol, are you flying from manchester?

Yea im flying from Manchester but haven't booked yet. I think the Oz experience just lets you hop on and off their bus in Sydney, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Cairns but I don't know how much it is yet or how long people recommend in each location.. if anyone has any ideas?
Hi Kathryn i am heading out to oz around the beginning of July also from Manchester. I am going alone also plan to go foe a year hopefully. Not sure of were i want to start so many options! have looked at company like oz intro and the like but plan to just do it myself. Do you have a idea of what you want to do?

I'll be in Oz around June/July for 3 months. I'm travelling around Thailand first then have a flight booked for 1st June to Sydney but may push it back a month if I'm having fun in Thailand :-) I'm on my own too. Was thinking of doing the hop on hop off bus up the coast to Cairns which i think is called the Greyhound bus and costs around £300. Then I'm going to New Zealand....if anyone's thinking of going to Fiji then I'd be up for that!

I have now booked my flights from Heathrow to Adelaide for 23rd June, and have 4 weeks to make my way up and around to Cairns! Does anyone know whether its best to book excursions before or whilst I'm there?!
I'm just thinking this is probably the best way to meet people.....

I spoke to my friend that went up the east coast and she said don't book anything otherwise you end up having to move on when you're not ready or vice versa.
She said just get your ass out there and just hope on and off the greyhound when you see fit!
I'm probably pushing my trip back a little bit now so if anyone is going to be around southeast Oz mid-June let me know xxx

Im in Sydney at the minute looking to head up the East Coast eventually to Cairns.
I will be going on the Greyhound hop on hop off bus for $369 but I have no plans as you're right if I made plans I would only end up having to leave somewhere I loved and wanted to stay longer, thats why I am sort of just going with the flow so to speak.
Have you booked a flight yet?
