Using two passports when travelling in Asia

I am travelling from Germany to Thailand, having a quick holiday in Bali, and then back to Thailand.

You need to use the same passport to exit a country that you entered it with.

I have 2 passports and changed them when flying from Turkey to Russia. Aside from that one experience, I can't speak with authority, but... I think it's doable if you fly into a country. You may have had a layover, etc, so you don't have the exit stamp from some other random country. Crossing overland though... in my experience, the passport control at land border crossings have always checked my exit stamps from previous countries, particularly the one I just exited.

In Malaysia, if we encounter that you have 2 citizenship, we would not permit you to enter. Worst come to the worst, we would refuse your entry.
