thailand 30 days no visa

Hey

Hi we travelled in Thailand dec 2012. You get a 30 day visa if you fly in 15 at land crossings. You can extend the visa by a week we did ours in co samui. You can apply for a travel visa before going which gives you 60 days and can be extended by 30 when there. We met someone who had got this by post from Birmingham. Hope this helps.

Laura,
You have 3 decent options.
1. Buy a 60 day tourist visa before your trip. I suggest this option.
2. Extend your free 30 day arrival visa for another 7 days: 1,900 baht.
3. Leave Tland and re-enter, receiving a free 15 day arrival visa. There are companies that make daily runs to the closest border. Around 2,000 baht.

Both 2 & 3 cost over $65. Check what a 60 day visa costs and you will have a better idea of what option is best for you. Good luck with your planning.

hey guys,

thanks so much for that. I have just booked my trip and was informed that I could travel into another country and receive another 15 days so will extend my trip and do 2 weeks in cambodia

Laura

Laura,
That is great. I am sure you will enjoy your time in Cambodia. I suggest you fly; BKK-PNH on . They have very affordable fares with a week or so advance purchase. After a few days in PP, you have a nice beach option down in . Plenty of beaches to choose from, nice water for swimming. I would read up on the and decide where you want to stay and what beach. Or stay downtown and commute to a different beach each day. Bus back to PP, then bus up to . Worth 3-4 days IMO. Most visitors get the . You might visit if you have time.

Then fly back to BKK and get another 30 day arrival visa or bus back to Tland from SR for 15 days. Read about the here. Plenty of good info on all things Cambodia.

Good luck with your planning.

Mike,

Thanks for your help. I will be travelling to siem reap from bangkok and have approximately 10 days before i return to BK for my flight. Any recommendations on where to go after siem? I hear a few days there is enough

regards,

Laura

Laura,
I found 3 days was enough trudging over the rocks at Angkor. Now you have to decide what is more important to you. More ruins, historical things, beach time or a combo of both. I never went to , so you will need to read up on it to see if you want to spend a few days there. Looks like more historic temples. Bus down to Phnom Penh, worth 3 days IMO. You can see what appeals to you in 3 days. S'ville is 4 hours away if you want to hit the beach and get wet. You might look at & if you want see a less visited part of Cam. Do some reading and see if they are worth your time.

I would plan on flying back to BKK from PP. No need for more bus over ground you have already traveled. Air Asia has cheap flights with advance purchase. Good luck with your planning.
