Guesthouses in Pattaya

Planning on going to Pattaya for Songkran next year. This place looks quite nice -snip- Metro Apartments Anybody stayed their or have a better suggestion?

There is no shortage of cheap hotel rooms in Pattaya. In April you should be able to get a hotel with a walk-in. No need to book every night all at one time.

LK Metro is a pretty good location for walking to things. Where Soi Diana ends is Soi Boukhaw. On Soi Boukhaw there are many cheap hotels. Usually no problem finding rooms around 500-600 baht that have A/C, private toilet, TV and maid cleanup. Take the time to check out other hotels if you want to change.

Some people like Songkran and some hate it so much that they get out of town! Arriving a few days ahead of time you won't get your bags and electronics soaked going from baht bus to hotel. When you walk around keep your wallet in a plastic bag. Don't wear good clothes. Keep your mouth shut when water is coming at you. Some of that water may have a turd in it thrown by some wiseass. Protect cameras, computers, cell phones or leave them locked up. Water can come at you from rooftops, from passing trucks, from beer bar customers and employees.

No water tossing in stores, hotel lobbies and enclosed bars. Sometimes it seems to go on forever!! Early morning and late at night easier to get around. Try not to leave for the airport during Songkran. Roads can be dangerous.
