Im going Oz in September, im going to take 5000 spending money and living cost.
In the real world how long will i last on 5000 obv ill have to save roughly 1000 for the
flight home back to gatwick, but worried about if i dont get a job i am easy going will do
any labour work at all just wondering how long i could live on that amount of money really.
I'd say around 3 to 4 months depending upon how sensible you are with the money.
Sweet sounds good because want to try and get job ASAP really..
I would warn to be prepared for it not to last that long. The general guide of $70/day which is often suggested on these forums (budget accommodation, transport, etc with only periodic splurges on dining and big activities), means your $5000 won't quite stretch 2.5 months.
If the 5000 is in pounds (really, international travel forum: currencies are useful to specify) , then 4 months sounds doable though, as that's about AUD $8800. And I'd say the general average daily budget has crept up to AUD $75/day - but maybe that's just me forgetting how to live on ramen. :P
