My husband and I (30 and 27 yrs. old) are planning to travel to Europe in March 2014. We are from Southern India where the weather is predominantly very warm.

Hey,

In March, you can expect temperatures to be quite pleasant and warm for european standards (15-20 °C) in the southern countries, especially in Spain and Morocco, but also in Portugal and southern Italy.

In northern Italy and Switzerland you should prepare to a more chilly weather and sometimes even snowy days (at higher altitudes). In Florence, Venice and Switzerland the temperature is often below 15 °C in March (i'd say between 5 and 15 °C most of the time).

So yes, you should pack some winter clothes, mostly for the second part of your trip! A couple of warm sweaters, a warm jacket, a scarf, maybe gloves. Barcelona & Madrid are your first two stops and these places are known for being low-cost shopping paradises in Europe, so you will maybe find the clothes you need there, in case you don't want to carry too much weight from India.

Wish you a very nice trip in Europe
