Landing in Auckland on 20th dec and exiting on 3rd jan from Christchurch .pls suggest a ideal itenairy .
Some idea of what your interests are is useful with requests like this. Do you want to focus on nature, cities, culture, hiking or adventure activities? Without such information, the below itinerary is a rather generic one. It's more rushed than I'd personally prefer, but given the limited amount of time you have available and the four destinations you picked yourself, it still packs in a large number of the highlights. (Depending on your interests, though, I might recommend skipping the North Island completely, and just flying straight on from Auckland to the South Island, spending the entire time there instead.)
Day 1: Arrive Auckland, explore Auckland (go up the skytower).
Day 2: Second day in Auckland to recover from the flight and actually see some more of the city (go to Mt. Eden or One Tree Hill, explore Parnell or Ponsonby, or take the ferry over to Devonport and hike to North Head to get a different view of the harbour and the skyline).
Day 3: Rent car, drive to Rotorua via Hobbiton.
Day 4: Explore around Rotorua, visit Wai-o-Tapu, do a quick stopover at the Craters of the Moon near Taupo, and end the day by driving on to Turangi or Whakapapa (Tongariro National Park)
Day 5: Go hiking in Tongariro National Park
Day 6: Drive to Wellington, explore Wellington.
Day 7: Take a ferry to Picton. amble around Picton. Drive on to Nelson/Motueka.
Day 8: Explore Nelson for a day or go hiking in Abel Tasman National Park, taking the water taxi from Motueka.
Day 9: Drive to Greymouth, following the coastal route and stopping at Punakaiki (ideally aiming for high tide).
Day 10: Drive to the glaciers, visiting on of them this day...
Day 11: ...and the other one the day after.
Day 12: Drive to Queenstown, explore.
Day 13: Second day in Queenstown.
Day 14: Drive to Lake Tekapo. Hike Mt. John and have a cup of hot chocolate at the observatory cafe, watching the southern alps and the MacKenzie plain stretch on into infinity.
Day 15: Drive on to Christchurch, fly out.
