Yeah that sounds great to me are you looking to be based in Melbourne too? I've done India, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam and heading to Bali next week before flying into Aus. Has been amazing but I'm mega excited for Aus!

Where abouts in the UK are you from? That's my exact plan too flying into Perth for a week before Melbourne to see a friend then want to work for 3-4 months and then travel the east coast! Want to be home before Christmas as will have been out for over 10 months then so will be ready to go home I reckon!
