Bangkok to Singapore, Best Route

Ok i arrive in Bangkok and have a month to see what i can and enjoy SE ASIA

I travel by land... its easy to go down from Bangkok to Singapore...

I got my tickets from agencies in Khaosan Rd, against the advice of some forum members. So I was bus for foreigners down to Phuket... but you can go anywhere from Bangkok... The same is with Malaysia, and it looks more efficient and reliable in Malaysia. I also did the KL to Hatyai by Bus, and from there tried the Thai railways.

I just assume that since millions have done it, it must be a breeze. and I guess it fun not to know everything, just hit the road, assuming that if you get lost, there is always a backpacker walking around with a guide book.

It would be impossible to see all the countries you mentioned in one month. As you are starting off in Bangkok it would make sense to concentrate just on Thailand and Malaysia, then finish off with a couple of days in Singapore.

Trying to tour Cambodia, VN, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia in 30 days is just not practical. I think you need to decide what countries are most important to you. You will need 10-14 days just to hit the sights in BKK, a few day trips and some beach time down south. Allow yourself another 4-6 days in Malaysia and you don't have much time left for the other countries.

I will suggest a few options.

1. If Cambodia is a 'must see', then fly : BKK-PHN. 3 days in Phnom Penh, up to Siem Reap, 3 days touring Angkor, back to BKK. Hit the sights in the BKK area, fly down to or . Get in some beach time, perhaps in the area. Down to KL, end in Singapore.

2. If VN is your priority, you can fly Air Asia BKK-HAN. Use 14 of your days getting down to HCMC, fly Air Asia SGN-BKK. Use your remaining days seeing Thailand, beach time, on to KL, Singapore.

3. If you have a limited budget, I would forget trying to see VN, Laos or Cambodia. Use overnight buses to tour Thailand. Hit BKK, , , , beaches, bus into Malaysia, on down to Singapore.

Good luck planning your trip.

i just want to get the most of the 30 days that i have.

i land in bangkok and 30 days later fly from singapore to Australia

Hi Swalia1980,

I recommend 30 days for BKK down to the South of Thailand, visit some islands and some small but nice cities, KL and then Singapore. Travelling by land is easy to go down from BKK to Sing as Swept Away said.

I've just finished a half-month trip on that way. Really interesting. I didn't have much time, so could not see all nice places, but it was worth, got many experiences. I will do that road again, sure

Quite easy to get a bus ticket from agencies in Khaosan road, bus starts at 6:00 pm, but we had to wait until 7:00 pm, stop at Krabi, if you want to visit Phuket or Kor Phi Phi, change into small bus they take you there. If you want to go to KL, also change into small bus, take about 3 or 4 hours to get to Hat Yai, a small city in the South of Thailand, stop there one night. In the morning, there a big bus comes to drive you directly to KL. Enjoy yourself in KL. Come to buy a ticket to Singapore at bus station, quite near to China Town. Our bus departed at 10:30 pm and reached Singapore at 6:00 am. You can ask for bus schedule depend on your time budget.

Or you can travel by train, from BKK to Singapore. We really want to try but time we go is CNY, it was all advance booked.

Save Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia for next trip. There is also an easy way to visit these three indochina countries.

Nice trip then.

Regards.
