Hi All,
Hi Zuesie,
I could recommend the Hotel Caprera, just a few minutes' walk from the train station (Santa Lucia station), which is very handy. It is a very good 2 star hotel with newer, clean rooms and modern bathrooms in a quiet side street. I stayed there in 2007 and would definitely go back there, as the prices are very good for Venice.
Prices at present vary between 40 and 85 Euro for a single room, depending on the period. Breakfast is served in the room and has to be paid separately (I think it was about 6 Euro).
The Caprera hotel is also close to the vaporetto station, so you can easily reach other parts of Venice. However, walking is also a good suggestion, as it is great to explore Venice on foot.
