Krakow , Poland

Hey everyone,

The best way to get to Auschwitz is to get a bus; they leave fairly regularly from the main bus station. It takes around 1.5 hours and will drop you off right outside.

I liked the salt mines at Wielichka. I've not been able to find a website for them, but if you google Wielichka, there are various blogs and reviews to give you an idea. There are several underground chapels, statues etc, all carved out of salt. I went many years ago and I think more of the mines are now open to the public

there loads of bars (over 400 in the city centre) and restaurants in and around the main square (which is the largest in Europe). I found the best bars where the ones underground and hid away. Also I liked the Jewish area of the town

Krakow is full of bars, restaurants and young people. You should visit the getto, Jama Michalikowa, which is the bohemian historic bar and of course Wawel, the castle where the Polish kings are buried.
For diner you should go to one of the restaurants serving traditional Polish food, like Chata Polska. Try "pierogi ruskie" and żurek.
Wieliczka is pretty awesome, so you shouldn't miss it and since you'll be so close, you should also go to Zakopane. Have a great trip!

Thanks everyone for all your replys and ideas!

They have been much help!
