Without knowing what you might be interested in & March being the off-season...
Windsor to Toronto (±4 hours driving, 226 mi) could include a few side trips:
The Chatham area was a destination for the historical Underground Railroad;
Niagara Falls is definitely worth a visit; there might still be snow which makes it an unusual view as most tourist info shows summertime;
The Niagara region is also wine country;

I think the problem here is that you are saying that you will be attending the "Arnold (Schwarzenegger) Sports Festival" which is being held in Columbus, Ohio in March, 2011 and the responder (dbl-nkl) thinks you meant that you are attending the "Arnold Palmer Invitational Golf Tournament", which is held each year in March in Orlando, Florida.
The distance from Columbus, Ohio to Windsor, Canada is about 195 miles (313 kilometers) and can be driven in less than 4 hours time (one-way), providing you don't hit bad weather. Be aware that early March is still a time when snowstorms hit and I would allow at least 5 to 6 hours to make this drive, just to be on the safe side.
You should be able to get a bus from Columbus to Detroit, and then transfer to a bus to Windsor (you'll need your passport with you, of course).

If the goal is just to get to Canada to say you've been there, than from Columbus, Windsor is the easier option. If you take a bus (check ), you can then take the the river to Windsor. You'll need proof of citizenship, potentially a visa (check with your local Canadian embassy or consultate) and $3.75 (either Canadian or US funds, but in exact change).

If you have more time, then you can head to Toronto from there. Check either Via Rail or Greyhound Canada for pricing.

I think flying might be my easiest option in terms of generally not wasting time, Opodo seemed to have some reasonable deals, now just have to find somewhere to stay in Columbus - there doesn't seem to be much and I'm a hostel kinda gal :-0
