The train is always busy with so many people - most of whom are tourists. You'll be just fine and it won't be more than an hour or so before you've struck up a conversation with someone.
If you need any advice at all, it's simply - when you're ready for sleeping, safely stash away your cash, passport etc. in a very secure area, if you get my drift.

Yes it's safe there is railway police who take cares and yes flyingbob is right he also sharing a great point.
