I am traveling to Fiji in May 2012. Looking for good swimming beaches, day trips to other islands, shopping/markets/dining/, as well as nightlife for cocktails and party in the evening. I have heard it is unsafe to stay in the capitol city, as well as Nadi. Was looking at the coral coast but seems like many of the beaches are not good for swimming, and that it may be too far to take day trips easily? Hoping to not spend too much on hotel, but also looking for a nice resort-hopefully with a pool, bar, restraunt-close to beach/shopping/dining etc.- not interested in hostel or dorm type places. ANY info, advise, suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
Are you going to head out to the Yasawa's? That is where I went and they are truly beautiful. Stop on Naviti and go to Botaira Beach Resort - my favourite place ever!
