Ireland/Scotland at Christmas and New Years

Hi everyone!

The weather in Scotland I can pretty much guarantee will be freezing at that time of year!! And there is an extremely high chance that there will be snow, so I wouldn't recommend camping at all, you'll need somewhere with central heating. Unless you are very well prepared and have all things waterproof!!

Dublin is a great place, there will be a great atmosphere in almost any local pub, and the locals are likely to be very welcoming towards you :-). Dublin also has a Discover Ireland Centre, so whatever you want to do they will give you PLENTY of ideas.

Hope you have a lovely trip :-)

Where you can go will depend on the weather. Very cold and you can get about. Deep snow and it may be just as far as you can walk.

It would have been different had you booked say the Costa del Sol instead. Last Boxing Day I was on a long beach with just ten other people and it was like a summer's day.
