Hey guys, so this is my first post and i'm sure there of threads like this out there but i'm sort of in a rush.. Me and 3 friends will be driving across the US in around two weeks and where wondering if anyone could please help with getting the under 25 surcharge wavered as it is so expensive for 2 months.. I have tried to sign up to USAA but since in from the UK had difficulty when it came to my tax id/securtiy id asall we have is NI and thaat didnt seem to work.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I checked with Fox Rental Cars. They have a $14/day surcharge for those under 25. Lowest I could find so far. Your best bet will be with smaller companies. All the large companies are going to hit you with substantial surcharges. Also check if the quote includes insurance. That can boost the price per day as well. Make sure your UK will cover your time in the US. If it does, then pass on their insurance. Good luck.
