Our RTW starts November 2010.
Plans are to bring as little luggage as possible.
Not more than 5 kilo each, so we can have it all in our hand-luggage.
Always control over our luggage, and fast passthroughs at airports.
No luggage getting lost, damaged, and no long waitings at luggage-belts.
I agree that less is better. You ain't the winner or the "less is more" crown though....That guy who sewed every thing into his pants and jacket so that he carried NOTHING! Now that's the winner.

I like to pack as light as possible, and I'm getting better at it! As you say arodasi, it's less to worry about and it's nice not to have to lug a heavy pack around all the time. I'm not sure I'd manage to just take hand luggage yet though and I could never travel without a book.
I'd be genuinely interested to hear how you get it to 5kg - it's a good target.
So much depends on the type of travel. You staying at hostels?
Could never leave a book behind, but that's me.
Only 5 kg??!!
Wow, I would like to see your packing list.
I like to travel a bit more comfortable, this is more than one shirt etc. So, in my case, it's hard to stay under 8 kg.
That's why I'm interested how you manage to pack only 5 kg...
Staying warm and dry, clean and hydrated. Everything else is just fluff.

To tell you the real truth fabyo, we still have to find out how.
But we will try whatever is possible to reach that goal.
Just to travel around like a feather.
We are staying at hostels indeed, most of the time.
And whenever it is needed to get clothed a bit more neet, there are clothes for sale everywhere.
Only 5 kg??!!

Yvekes,
Mainly we will try to pack just minimal where it concerns clothing.
As said before, everything can be bought everywhere.
Furthermore, we won't bring books around or heavy electronics.
Also for books, they can be bought everywhere else.
Just try to pack the absolute minimum of weight possible.
Even so for cosmetics for instance. Soap is everywhere.
We just try to go back to basics, freed from our material addictions.
