Hi Everyone
I'm travelling to thailand mid jan and I only have a week there (i was supose to be going for 6 weeks but I seemed to have run out of money quicker than I thought I would). I land in Bangkok and leave from Bangkok.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should go whilst I'm there, I know that time is restrictin in me some what but I don't really want to stay in Bangkok for the whole week.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
Only a week. Maybe make some trips to Aythaya, Kanchanaburi and the floating market. Then head to Pattaya and Sattahip or Cha Am and Huahin for some refreshment.
Laura,
I agree with the side trips. Certainly hit Kanchanaburi, Ayuthaya. I vote NO on Pattaya for beach time. Most western females really don't like the place. Hit Cha Am/Hua Hin for sun/sand. Good luck with your planning.

I would definately do an overnighter to Kanchanaburi and that can either be done privately or via a tour arranged from any street corner in Bangkok.
I particularly like the Krabi area so if your funds will stretch I would fly down and back.
We have some pics, maps and stories of our Bangkok, Kanchanaburi and Krabi trips here... [snip] that may help.
Happy & safe travels
Bob
