Hi all i am a 29 yr old female who is going out to Sydney next year, i will be travelling alone as all my friends are either settling down to huge mortgages or having babies or simply cant afford the trip.
I am totally scared about going it alone, so i am thinking of joining one of the Ozintro groups.
I am an easy going girl who likes to have fun and wants to explore and see as much of this wonderful country as possible in the 12 months.
I know what you mean about travelling alone. I did brave Japan for a month alone, but that's a very safe country so I wasn't too worried.
I haven't decided on a date, but I have some friends I would like to visit in Sydney and would love a chance to see the country a little while I'm at it.
I might be there around that time. I plan on going to Australia on a whv in june/july for 12 months. I'll probably arrive in Sydney and go to Northern Territory after a couple of days because I've heard winter in Oz is the best time (temperature-wise) to visit NT.
I'm 26 and from Belgium and I am an easy going guy who likes to have fun and wants to explore and see as much of this wonderful country as possible in the 12 months!
Are your plans final? Or do you still have to book your tickets?

Thanx for your message, i bet Japan was great. If u do decide to go to Oz, how long would u fancy going for??, i am hoping to travel around for at least the 1st 3-4 months, then will look into getting a job, will probably be skint by that time, and will be sick of living off beans on toast lol. Really scared but very excited!!!

Thanx for your reply, my plans are not absolutley final and i havnt booked my tickets as yet, will be doing so next week when i get paid (yippee) But i am looking about Sept time as i am trying to clear as much of some old debt before i leave, so i can spend longer travelling rather than working. I am also going on a whv, my dream would be to find the perfect job and employer and hopefully stay in oz.
My plans for travelling would include hopefully all of the East Coast and doing the Great Ocean Road, but i am happy to see where the road takes me.

I was only thinking 2 or 3 weeks when I go. Sometimes I feel like it's an excuse to not be more adventurous, but my job and cat keep me pretty grounded. At least the job gives me 5 weeks a year off to travel, though!

Not really got much of a plan, Im hoping to be in sydney for over christmas and new year, but apart from that nothing, just to travel around and see some of the sights. It all depends on my work situation which I should find out about soon, but I might be going to Asia around July time then heading to Austraila around Oct if not I will def be heading to Aus from the UK in Oct, You have any plans?

Hi Gail,
I will be sailing the Queensland Coast in my lil sail boat. I am planning to leave from just north of Sydney at the end of February and it might take me a month or 6 weeks to get up there but time is not that much of a consideration for me.
Meanwhile please dont be scared as Australia in the main is a pretty safe place to be and i am sure you will have loads of fun here.
