Moving to europe.

Basically i've got family in Belgium. My mother who hasn't been there for more than 2 years, and my Step-father who is a belgian citizen. I'm looking to stay there atleast 9 months, before joining the military. Which i'll actually be contacting an AF recruiter stationed in Germany.

Does that mean that your mother is currently living in Belgium, married to a Belgian citizen?

What is necessary for this move? Considering my step dad is belgian, they both have jobs and can support my move there. how long / complicated will this be?

Are you over or under 18?

Over 18 should be fairly easy, you can apply for

For under 18 you need to contact the embassy - there are custody issues involved. If your mother is living in Belgium I think your mother has to get custody for you and then you can apply for a visa that allows you to live with your mother. Ask at the embassy.

Both visa types take several months to process. 4 weeks is minimum.

Make sure that this is an option. Also check - just because you are recruited in Germany doesn't necessarily mean that you are being stationed in Germany. If I was you I would look into studying at university in Belgium instead.
