Visa & Drug conviction

Ok, I'll try and explain this briefly.

Since there is now a record in the embassy of your past application, how the next application is processed is anyone's guess. I'd advise trying to get this underway as soon as possible, to allow yourself more time if you need to jump a few more hoops. Speculating on success rate won't change anything really, because unless you put through the application, you're quite certain not to be able to secure the right visa to travel. Nothing to lose there, no?

That really sucks that the wrong drug was noted, what a critical mistake. A friend of mine had been out of work for months and couldn't figure out why interviews that went so well never landed her a job. Then one human resources manager called her to ask about the details of her arrest. She was shocked, she has never been arrested. A little research revealed that a parking ticket had turned into an arrest record (and no doubt lost job opportunities) because the officer had simply checked the wrong box.
