Hey, me too. I'm landing in Tegucigulpa on Jan 26th as well. Are we on the same flight, from Houston, thats my chang over? I'm going to work in the capital for 6 months with an NGO, and it's funded by the European Union and is generally a youth program. If they're sending me out, then it can't be too bad. Given that you take the usual precautions that you would in any impoverished latin american country, it should be alright. Indeed there is great political instability due to the recent coup de etat (excuse my french) but it just means a corrupt military rule instead of corrupt civil rule. The population is felling the crunch of poverty a little more than usual, but the only great risk is being caught up in rioting or something.

I live in El Salvador and have a small hostel in Suchitoto. We recieve a lot of back packers that arrive from Hondurus and all have said that things are fine, especially in the toursty areas. Don't worry just use common sense as in any big city, both Tegucigapla and San Pedro Sula have a bad rep for being dangerous.

I've been in Honduras for a couple of days...I was in Tegucigalpa. There is nothing at all to worry about here. Everything is fine. Everything is exactly the same....Sadly, the lack of tourism, so far, hasn't made it so the prices are that much lower.

Thanks for this its always good to know. I will make it over thier eventually, I want to see as many places as possible when I travel,
