Packing for Hawaii

Any ideas on a packing list for 9 days on Oahu? I'll be staying in a shared house and am there for a (casual) wedding next month. I usually pack light but the last time I travelled, I found myself doing laundry more than I care to. Any thoughts? I have some easily hand washable clothes, but most are cotton.

Okay, here's what you need to know about Hawaii: It has never been hotter than 93 degrees nor colder than 55 degrees in the state of Hawaii anytime in the 100 years that they've been keeping records.

However, it does get rain--and it can come at anytime--and start--and then stop suddenly and with very little notice. So pack light--but take stuff that dries out fast--or that you can throw in the dryer and dry fast.

Enjoy your trip --and in Hawaii, you will.

A rather casual place - what would you pack for S. California or S. Florida - same/same, but remember that Oahu has a fabulous shopping center called Ala Moana S.C. with store after store filled with Aloha clothes (all prices). This time of year they get a little extra rain.

Definitely agree - pack as light as you can, and plan to pick up a few t-shirts while in Hawaii. I live on the Big Island, and except for VERY special occasions I wear shorts and t-shirt, 24/7 and 12 months of the year.

Thanks for the feedback!

By the way, how are the thrift stores there? It looks like there are a lot of them. If I find I am short on clothes I may check there. I don't have a lot of quick dry stuff. Just undies and a t-shirt. Okay, I actually have more than that, but due to an expanding waist, that's all that fits *sigh*.
