Hey, I'm going to be travelling up the East Coast of Australia from mid-March next year and have ended up timing it over Easter which I have heard can be very expensive! I also looked into the music festival held in Byron Bay over the Easter weekedn (1st-5th April) which also looks pretty pricey but awesome! Because of this it looks like the accomadation in already getting pretty full around this time so is it really only possible to book in advance to guarantee a bed? Or should I just turn up with a pop up tent and hope for the best?! It obviously all depends on my financial situation, dont really wanna book a ticket now and find I dont have enough money for the rest of my trip!
Really just wondering how bad Easter hols really get and if there are areas to avoid/definitly visit in this time. Thank you
Hi
Me and gf were in Byron Bay over easter this year. was very busy, great atmosphere however we turned up the day before the blues music festival and none of the campsites had room for our camper, there may have been room for tents but i would call or email them in advance.
We are doing Oz east coast in March 2010 also.
Have fun!
Me and my best friend are going around the east cost from february-may and we shall be there for easter so i hope it isnt expensive!! What kind of music festival is this?
definately book in advance we had real difficulty getting a camping spot this year at that time, it was a fantastic experiance though, really cool vibe around the town..........as there always is!
Ah, ok thanks for your replies! Guess I better book then and/or arrive a bit earlier than the actual Easter weekend, I'm actually planning on hostelling it although I guess I could get a little tent if worst comes to worst! Thanks guys! Exciting stuff!
