Hi everyone, I just thought I would share my travel plans with you in hope of some advice/recommendations.
We went to STA travel today to get our final quote from them for our round the world flights. Our flight itinerary is as follows:

I'd say that's a fairly reasonable price; my friend paid £1500 for a RTW route with less stops in than that, although that was when fuel prices were higher last year. Have you tried Trailfinders? I always found them cheaper than STA.
Sydney is a great place to spend New Year; if you haven't already booked your accommodation there I would do it now, as I booked in the July when I went in 2004 and availability was already tight then.
hi, thanks for the replies. we tried trailfinders yes, it was only about £20 more, all our quotes were within £40 of eachother, so i suppose what we paid must be around the right price. STA worked out cheapest.
I've heard about the hostels booking up quick in sydney at new year, we are going back next friday sorting the rest of that out, and the oz experience bus.
Just need to sort insurance out aswell, STA are trying to sell us theirs but i'm thinking we can get a better deal somewhere else. What do you reckon?
Can't wait till November, this will be my first backpacking experience, hopefully not my last.
