But you fail to tell us where you've been before, and what your preferences are. I find my own country (USA) to be one big shopping mall (not exactly a good thing in my eyes since everything is made in China). Europe has culture and diversity (we have next to none), Europe has good food and hotels (wait till you see what they call food in the USA). At this point in time, the USD is rising against the Euro, and prices are already sky high here. They expect you to tip 18% in the States, and I'm sure it's a bit less in EU?
No question in my eyes - Europe is by far the place for you!

I have lived in both places - UK/Scotland, Europe and America. And I can honestly say I dont know why anyone would visit America. Europe is full of history, culture, great monuments and castles and cool people. America is lacking in these areas.
When you say America, I assume you mean the USA and nowhere else.
The USA has lots to offer. The drive from the Canada/USA border (Manitoba/North Dakota) then due south, is lovely in the spring and autumn.
New York is fun, but after two or three days, it becomes a bit headacheeee.
Europe can be a drag too if you don't plan properly. It's bigger than the USA and it's only Spain that allows you to (officially) take off, fly due south - and when you land almost 4 hours later, still be in the same country.
It's possible to fly over 5 or 6 countries in a couple of hours or so in Europe and it's so diverse. From beer at €10 a bottle in Iceland, to less than half a € in Bulgaria. Miles of flats in Holland (one of my favourites) to the mysterious mountains of Transylvania. A train network that is the envy of the world and some of the cheapest flights on the planet.
Think about it.. Rome to Copenhagen in 2 hours - and two totally different languages.
In the USA, get on a flight in NY, fly West for 5 hours and you're still in the same country with the same language when you land.
Europe's not only a basket full of different languages, but different alpahabets as well.
The USA has the Mississippi that's longer and has a bigger delta, but it's all in one country. Imagine a trip from the beginning to the end of the Danube. 10 countries from start to finish and 4 capital cities en-route.
From the chilly glens of the Scottish Grampians, to the scorching heat of Southern Albania. I was there once and it was 48c. Both regions are less than 4 hours apart by plane.
I do like the USA and have had many great times there, but without sounding prejudice one way or the other - Europe wins it for me.

Im American, stay away from here, this place has nothing to offer but grief, you will have a shitty time here, people here are racist, impolite and nothing to see, im glad I got my passport 7 years ago and went to europe, what a wonderful place
I would rate the continents this way:
Asia - most diverse and interesting #1
E. Europe - still developing and quite interesting #2
W. Europe - overdeveloped but rich in culture #3
Oceania - underpopulated but very friendly #4
South America - still developing and quite interesting #5
North America - overdeveloped and major problems #6
Africa - underdeveloped and major problems #7
(I've never been to S. America or Africa)
both have ups and downs. by the way you are not between europe and america . you are between britain and usa. europe has so much better places than highlands or london.
Well as I said, I lived in Hungary, Bulgaria, Scotland, and USA. And travelled to every corner of Europe.
The best place iv ever been to tho is Germany. So hands down, Europe.
Again, I cant imagine why anyone would ever go to the USA on a holiday. I do, only because Im American!
