London to Latvia via Scandanavia

Hi there,

Try the ferries. Tak a look at the Stockholm section in the travel guide (Getting there)
Wish you a nice trip.

I did a similar trip last year through Scandinavia. The cruise/ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki is fantastic because you sail through the archipelago.
It's going to be cold for sure, but Christmas time in Scandinavia is the best. Check out the Christmas markets in Copenhagen (visit Tivoli!). I hear there are great markets in Sweden, too... but I can only speak for Denmark. Be sure to have some glogg (mulled wine) and æbleskiver (warm, round pancakes)!

The ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn is very fast (I think it's only 1.5 hours, if I remember correctly). There are also helicopters travelling between the two cities (more expensive, of course). The old part of Tallinn is like something from a fairy tale book- with it's medieval towers and walls. But it will be cold- and dark- at Christmastime. When I visited in August, the night was just 5 hours long. So in the winter, they must have equally short days.
