I went in December and had great weather every day I was in Peru (and Chile). Make sure you don't miss out Lima (some great museums). Many do.

I think Cyberia may have been lucky, it's supposed to be quite wet and cloudy at this time of year. Also I think it sometimes gets shut if the weather is too bad?

Generally it will be wet which will mean the views may not be great. Also, due to the wet season the route is closed in February for maintenance to the path as the weather can errode parts of it.

I would say ~ As you are there, you might as well do it as it is brilliant, stunning, amazing etc etc etc

Hey,

My friend and I are doing the Inca Trail on January 6th - it is the rainy season and is meant to be wet, however we are travelling around South America from the 25th Nov for 3 1/2 months clockwise from Sao Paulo to Rio De Janeiro and it so happens that January is when we'll reach Peru. We've been advised that although it will most probably be raining, that the trek will still be worth it and not something to be missed!

Hope that helps!
M.
