Thai Visa - 60 Day?

Just wondering about getting myself a Thai Visa.

You are required to enter Thailand within 90 days of receiving the visa.

Personally, I would get it before heading out. One less thing to deal with.

How many days will you be in Thailand? What country are you from and what passport are you traveling under?

Some tourists visiting Thailand can get a free 30 days stamp in their passport on arrival at the airport. If you enter overland you only get 15 days. How many days do you need in Thailand?

Right now there is a special deal where Thailand embassies will issue a free 60 day visa. This is a limited time only. See below links for more info. But it depends on the passport you are traveling under.

See bottom of this link for free visa information (in blue.)

Good luck.

Both replies were accurate. Get your free 60 day tourist visa before leaving your home country. You have 90 days to activate it. I would contact your Thai Embassy and apply for the free tourist visa in the next few weeks. Good luck with your planning.

karazyal,

We will be in thailand for around 50 to 60 days.

We will be flying from England and we have English passports.

Can you or someone else also tell me a couple more things please...

Is this the correct form to send off?
http://www.mfa.go.th/internet/consular/Visaapplicationform.pdf

As you say it is being given away free, do we just send the documents off with no money/check included, as some sites obviously say there is a £29 fee?!

It also says on some sites that we should send proof of a flight out of Thailand, is this neccesary?
As we are not flying out of Thailand but will be travelling overland to Laos.

Also...if we use the 60 days in Thailand and then travel overland to Laos. When we come to travel back overland into Thailand will we get the other '15-Day on Arrival Visa' when arriving back in Thailand.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I would contact the Thai Embassy in the UK directly. Call or e-mail them. I would let them know your planned itinerary: leaving overland to Laos. The websites charging fees are not the official website for the Thai Embassy. You will get another free 15 day visa waiver when you cross back overland into Tland.

vegasmike6,

Thanks a lot for that mate, thats a lot of help!

Can anyone also tell me this please.

I am currently filling out the form and the page attached to it states the fees for the different types of Visa’a.
It says please pay by cash or postal order.

I noticed that the previous posters said it was free currently and also on the Thai Embassy website it states that it is free, so do I just not add payment with my application?

Cheers

Like I stated before, only use the Thai Embassy in your country. NOT the websites that offer to help you obtain a visa. They charge fees for their service. You do not need them. Contact your Thai Embassy and only deal with them. Follow their instructions. Good luck.

For the definitive statement, check with these people:

BTW,

If you are planning on sending in the form, this might interest you. From their site:

Royal Thai Embassy London will only accept application form which apply in person or courier, NOT by POST.
