5 day Sorrento & 5 day Rome

Hi there Regina,

You'll have a great trip!
Do you know the Circumvesuviana train? You can travel from Sorrento to Napoli with this train and also visit Pompeii. In P. the train station is at the opposite of the entrance.
See http://www.vesuviana.it/web/en

You can visit Napoli, of course and - if you like history - take a train to
Paestum too. It's 1.15 hr by train, see http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=ad1ce14114bc9110VgnVCM10000080a3e90aRCRD
Information about Paestum: http://www.paestum.de/en/paestum.htm

After visiting Pompeii (take 4 hrs or more) you can walk to the new village, it's about 20 minutes. In the evening the church is beautiful and there are some nice Italian restaurants.
But perhaps Sorrento has better ones.

Pozzuoli is nice and perhaps you can take a ferry to the island of Ischia. Nice atmosphere and some very nice beaches too. Look for some googel pictures for "spiaggia di chiaia".

If you have more questions, please let me know!

Hi Regina

You could also take a ferry trip to the lovely little island of Procida, which has lovely beaches and isn't half as touristy as Capri, it's also more characteristic.
Take a bus down to the town of Amalfi. Check out this link for bus and ferry timetables: http://www.amalficoastweb.com/amalfi/english/bus_ferries.html

Buon viaggio!

Don't miss anyway POSITANO and RAVELLO!!!!!!

Hi, also Isola di Ponza would be worth a seeing. I suggest Naples but you should avoid certain areas like Spanish Quarters, as long as you are by the sea you should be fine. If you like shopping Via dei Mille is your place.

Here is another question I am booked to leave Sorrento on a Wednesday and arrive in Rome. Including that wednesday I have 5 days in Rome. I want to dedicate 3 full days to sight- seeing, museums, and etc. I'm pretty sure that will be thurs, fri, and sat as most things r closed on sun. I thought it would be a good idea to use that sunday to take a trip to florence. Any thoughts on that? And how best can I use that wednesday when I arrive in Rome?
