You might check the about these questions. They bascially have almost all the information. Also regarding opening times of roads and accommodation options. I was there end of May last year and all but one road were open but accommodation just over half. It's rather expensive in the park itself, but there are a few gateways just outside the park proper, like West Yellowstone and Gardiner. Stayed in the latter one a few nights and a few nights in the park. West Yellowstone is closer to Old Faithfull.

Yellowstone is one of my favourite places in the USA, I really enjoyed the hiking and I know we stayed at a good camping ground, I'll try and remember what it was called for you! Great photography to be had there too, with the wildlife/scenery combo
