Is it possible to bus from Brazil too Boliva?

Im flying to brazil and was planning on spending 5 months there and then coming home, however I now think I'd like to spend half my time in Bolivia. I can fly from Rio too Santa Cruz for about £210. But with stop overs it still takes me about 36hours to get there!

If you are a man, have a good life insurance!
If you are a yung woman, say bye to your parents
Travelling alone in this area is very risky , I did it longtime ago and...i was very lucky
Central and South america are very dangerous for a travelling alone, anyway take nothing above 50usd woth with you

Hava a nice trip

The poster as quoted is completely FOS.

Sam, that's probably very true. But, do you have anything helpful to add to the discussion? If so, I'm sure the original poster would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi,
You are talking about travelling time directly from Rio to Santa Cruz but you can also visit som places along the way, like the southern part of the Pantanal for example, accessible from the area between Campo Grande and Corumba.
Rio to Campo Grande is probably in the 18-24 hour range, to Corumba another 6 hours. Across the border from Brazil with Bolivia the Death Train takes about 24 hours to Santa Cruz. So totally pure travelling time at least 48 hours, extra if you include waiting time, transfer etc.
There are however direct flights with Boliviana de Aviacion from Sao Paulo Guarulhos and with Gol from Sao Paulo and Campo Grande. Probably several hour flight, less from Campo Grande.
Have fun
Mike
