Hi
Does anyone have any recommendations of where to go in Bali? Looking for nice beaches and a bit of nightlife for 10 days
Lovina is a nice little beach town and great to chill out in for a few days. There is some good snorkeling off the coast too - trips can be arranged easily in Lovina town centre. Ubud is well worth spending few days in. Kuta might be your best bet for nightlife but it's not a particularly nice place!
just came back from Bali a month ago... stayed at aston bali in tanjung benoa. hotel was OK. pool was great. beach was crap. dun stay there or in tanjung benoa. there,s nothing there besides cheap massage and food.
Bali is about staying in those nice cosy homestay villas and cottages. so i made that mistake by staying in a proper hotel. nightlife is great in Legian. there is a very decent club called Sky Garden, its 4 levels w house trance hip hop and r& b all playing at different floors. so that should please most ppl.
i would suggest you stay in Ubud for the first night or two and then go seminyak, legian and kuta. the reason i say this is bcos i spend most of my money on the cabs and that was frustrating. its best to check out and move in to the new area you wanna go. i took a picture of Ubuds homestay places contact no check out my gallery...
if you are coming to malaysia let me know...
cheers
coo
Hi Lauren,
Bali has some beautiful beaches such as Padang-Padang beach, bluepoint ( suluban) beach, Kuta beach etc, those are good for surving.and there are so many good hotels in Kuta or Seminyak, near with the beach and there're some places for your night activities also, especially in Kuta , legian , seminyak and nusa dua.for dinner, you can do that at kedonganan bay seafood restaurant with its delicious seafood.Or you can do watersport in Tanjung Benoa like snorkeling, banana boat, fly fish, etc.
Beside that, Ubud is another good choice for you to stay in Bali. Ubud is full of art and calm, you can visit traditional balinese village in Ubud. And another options are Lovina for dolphines attraction, and Candi Dasa, beautiful beach and calm place. And it wouldn't be complete if you are not visiting Tanah Lot temple and Ulun Danu temple.
And nowdays, there is Bali Arts festival 33th in Denpasar. The Bali Arts Festival is a full month of daily performances, handicraft exhibitions and other related cultural and commercial activities during which literally the whole of Bali comes to the city to present its offerings of dance, music and beauty. Some of them are using entrance fee, and some of them are not.
June to september is high season in bali so many people come to bali for holidays.
best regards,
vivi

Hi Lauren,
how are you there?
I can give you information about the hotel's price in Ubud and Kuta. But for the hotel's price based on your coming to Bali. When will you come to bali?because from June to September is high season in Bali, so for the hotel's price would be added with surcharge. And there are some hotel's star choices. But let me tell you that hotel's price in Kuta from US$ 50 to US$ 130/night ( not including surcharge ).You can choose the hotel price based on your budget. And for the hotel's price in Ubud is around US$70 per night ( not including surcharge ).Or more info you may look at my profile or send me message -snip-
Have a nice day.
best regards,
vivi

Lauren, you are really better off just turning up and finding a place. You always get a better deal that way and you also get to see what you are really getting instead of being shocked that the pretty picture online isn't really the place you thought you were booking! From the airport its a cheap taxi into Kuta, ask to be dropped at Poppies One or Poppies Two. They are the narrow streets with all the budget guest houses.
