Ideas for Borneo for Honeymoon please???

hi there,

what kind of honeymoon that are you looking for?? is it near to the beach/ island?? or getting close to the nature/ forest?? By reading your entry i would say Kota Kinabalu/ Sabah is the best place to visit while at Borneo.. Sabah got nice beach/ island especially Sipadan ( voted as one of most beautiful island/best diving island in the world!!) Sabah also got the highest mountain in Malaysia ( Kinabalu Mountain), Sepilok Sanctuary is a must visit when you come to Sabah, here you can see orang utan baby and learn how sanctuary staff managed Orang utan here.. you also can visit hot spring at Sabah.. owhhh, if you love to learn new culture SABAH is the place for you as well!!

I second the Sipadan Island idea. The place is awesome and is a true divers dream. There are lots of amazing places to visit in Borneo, however it really depends on what type of person you and your partner are. I'm not so sure about the pampering side of Borneo, but If you're seriously adventurous then maybe look into Maliau Basin. It is VERY off the beaten track and if you're prepared to sleep rough in the middle of one of the largest jungles in the world, hours from civilisation then it could be for you. There's a reason they call it Sabah's lost world.

Either way, you cant go that wrong with Borneo its definitely one of my favourite places in the world.

Sipadan Island looks truly amazing! We have not yet learnt to dive but it's on the list of things to do. Would you still recommend this island if we love to swim and snorkel?

Not in the frame of mind for roughing it too much. Maliau Basin another time - MAYBE!
