hey, I suggest you check out hostelbookers.com or hostelworld.com
you can work out the exact budget for accommodation from either of those sites. some quick google searching will also give you train fares between each of those cities. On top of that, there will just be food and drinks and stuff which you could probably add about 20 euros per day. You have also got tourist attractions and other expenses which you have to consider but they are a bit hard to estimate.
Question, how are you getting from Geneva to Salzburg? That is a very long train ride. I suggest stopping in Interlaken, Switzerland for a couple of days. It is an awesome little town with lots to do. From Interlaken, it is still an 8 hour or so train journey to Salzburg. 5 days in Salzburg is a bit too much unless you are planning daytrips in which case 5 days is fine. Vienna for 5 days is excessive to. I would go 3 days. Budapest for 7 is spot on.
So, my suggestion would be to take at least one day off Vienna and you can probably take another day of Bratislava or Salzburg and spend two days in Switzerland. Anyway, good luck. You guys will have a blast!!

I'm from Montreal, Canada and will be in Geneva from 4 months because i'm doing an student exchange program. So I will probably have time to visit all the Swiss sites before my summer trip.
I am planning to go to Berchtesgaden from Salzburg. Also, we were thinking of maybe stopping in Liechtenstein for the day on our way from Geneva to Salzburg. Is it worth it?

why do u want to stay for 5days in ljubljana?
maybe take a look for a cheap flight from geneva to munich or salzburg and start u tour from there.
do not spend so much time in bratislava or budapest, and go to prague!!!
I have a limited budget, and would much rather spend my time in eastern cities that offer thinks to do at a lower cost.
personally, I don't think there is much to do is Lichtenstein plus there are no trains to Lichtenstein. You would have to get a train to a town in Austria (Feldkirch) and then take a bus to Vaduz the capital.
The train ride from Geneva to Salzburg is about 10 hours. You could go to Innsbruck in Austria which is a lovely little town for a couple of days. The train ride to Innsbruck is about 6 hours and from Innsbruck it is only about three or so hours to Salzburg.
As you can tell, I am not a fan of long train rides. If you are willing to put up with the 10 hour train ride, then go for it. I agree with sunnyl too, Prague is definitely worth a stop if you have time / money. You would need at least three or four days there though.
well if u dont have so much money then spend more days in bratislava and take a day trip from there to vienna because i think its cheaper to sleep somewhere in bratislava then in vienna. and from vienna to bratislava is not far away.
ljubljana is boring, i dont know what to do there for one days or even 5 days! forget slovenia and go by train from budapest to prague, i was there one year ago and then i move to prague with train, i paid for the ticket just 29euros! thats nothing.
in budapest there is a nice hostel called "home made!" it was very clean and cheap there.
7 days in Budapest is a lot... Just came back from it, stayed there 4 nights in total, but the last 2 days we were just wandering around and seeing everything again and again. Guess 3 nights would be quite enough to tour the city and see some musea/statues.
If you're in Hungary and going to Bratislava or vice versa, you could think of making an extra stop in Györ, between Vienna/Bratislava and Komarom/Esztergom/Budapest. Perhaps nice to stay there for a night and a day. Really nice town square. You can go there by train. (keep in mind that there are 3 train stations in Budapest). Travelling by train in Hungary is quite cheap; we paid about 3.7 euros for a 1 hour train trip+bike.
Hostelling cost us most in Bratislava then in Budapest or Vienna (partly depends on where's room and when you go). It is not that cheapcheap any more since the Euro arrived ;-), though it's not really expensive still.
So, Sunnyl's arguement about the money is not necessarily valid in the case of Bratislava. Vienna has some 'Wombat' hostels where you can get a dorm bed for 10-12 euros a night. ating out is not that expensive either if you just check around and go a bit off center.
Slovenia is said to be quite a nice country. I personally wouldn't stay 5 days in Ljubljana, but you could opt to see some other places there as well.
In general I would scrap some 1 or 2 nights per city, and see some other, smaller places as well.

5 days in Bratislava is too much in my oppinion, 2 or 3 is enough. Instead of staying just in Bratislava, maybe you can travel to some other places in Slovakia. Public transport is really cheap here (compared to Western Europe). For example train ticket for 200 km track will cost you around 9 euros. Also accomodation is not expensive.
We have many nice castles here, nice nature etc.. Sounds like I am doing advertisement for my country. Feel free to ask anything.
As for nightlife in Bratislava, I guess it is the same like in other cities, if you want some fun, you will find it.
