I am beginning my working visa in Canada next Thursday. Flying into Toronto and travelling around the Eastern provinces and then moving across to the Western areas in August. Will be hoping to pick up casual/temp work along the way. I'm 29 from Ireland.

I'm doing working holiday visa too, now in Toronto. Summer just begins and now planning for travelling...You're right, hashleigh84, I feel a bit nervous about doing it alone too. Do you have any travel plan? It'd be cool if we can meet up or travel together?

Hey all,
I'm 23, from England and my Canadian experience started one week ago to the day. I started out in Vancouver, came across to Victoria on Vancouver Island (which is where I'm writing to you from) and tomorrow I'm off up to Nanaimo and then going back to Vancouver a couple of days later before heading to the Okanagan Valley for cherry picking work which starts mid July.
I will be heading out East at the end of August so if anyone wants to meet up for a couple of drinks or a chat I'll be available.
You should have no problem finding temp work by the way. If you'll be staying in hostels, some of them (such as the one I'm at now - Ocean Island) let you work 3.5 hours a day and get your room and food/drinks for free which can really help out budget-wise considering how much everything costs here!
