Hi Chelle,
I'm 22 and going to Oz for a year, its my first time travelling too and going solo; rather nervous and really excited.
I'm starting in melbourne hoping to working there and then make my way up the east coast.
Loooking for people to meet up with. what are your plans so far?

Hey!
I am unsure where to start my travels as Melbourne would seem like a wise idea and work the way up the coast as your planning too, but so far my research shown it is cheaper to fly to Sydney and also that I want to do a starter package which includes things such as sorting out tax codes, couple nights free hostels when first get to australia etc and the best package I've found is for sydney! So I'm torn between where to go first!
Yeah would be great to get to no each other & have someone in similar position whilst out there & meet up if paths cross! X

I was also looking at doing a starter pack, but the more i looked into them they seemed like a rip off. Spoken to a lot of people on here and it seems like it fairly easy to sort out bank account and all the other bits. Going to take the plunge and do it myself :0
I will be going to sydney after Melbourne hopefully keep going east to Cains. Very hard to plan the rest of trip just see what will happen

Hey
I have noticed that alot of people seem to starting off in Melbourne (and it makes sense geographically!)
Think I need to re look at flight prices & starter packs (as you have) and see what I can find out.
When you looking at heading out to Melbourne?
Cheers

Booked my flight for 12th march, I may still go for a starter pack just need to see how easy it is to sort the paperwork bits out by yourself. Most hostels are very good on helping people. I have had good advice of people here as well.
There are many sites you can go on to get a visa. Best to get it directly of Austrailian gov website that be cheapest
Where did you book your flight from? and if you dont mind me asking how much it cost you?
cheers
Booked my flight from STA travel was the site that a lot of people from here recommended and for flights they did work out the cheapest. I got a one way flight to Melbourne, it was around £480 can't Remb actually but it was the best price I saw x
