Hello travellers,
Also: is there a kind of medical insurance you can advice to have while I'm there?
Hi Cr4nberry,
I used to be really worried when I started travelling alone and that really hindered me to fully enjoy my trip. Of course staying safe is better than being sorry but no need to overdo it.
Of course it always depends on the place you are travelling to. Try to avoid being an easy target by looking too much as a tourist and try to blend in with the locals as much as possible.
Almost every hostel has a secured location where you can put your valuables. And you should really use it to be able to enjoy your vacation without worrying. Of course if you are swimming in a river it´s a different story. If you are alone I guess the only thing to do is to stay close to your stuff.
Many hostels have washing machines but some don´t. If you book the hostel through a website you can usually see if they provide this service or not. Actually I also like to travel light and always wash my cloths at the hostel. If you only stay one night at a hostel it might be tricky tough, since your cloths need time to dry.
