I've got a flight to Phuket in Thailand for the 8th of December, i want to go on from there to Koh Samui and then possibly to Koh Phanang or Koh Tao. The reason i chose this flight was because it was cheaper to go from London Phuket and then get a flight to Koh Samui from there rather than London to Bangkok and to Koh Samui.
I went to both back in 2010 and i spent 1 night in Phuket. The beach is lovely but thought the night life was awful. Just didnt enjoy it at all.
Where as Koh Samui was awesome and we ended up extending our stay there. Henri Africa's is the bar we loved the most. Is a good place to Party and really chilled out during the day. Food is nice and cheap and lots of options.
Other people will no doubt diss agree but i thought Phuket was just way too OTT and in your face!!
Have a great time though Thailand is unreal not much else like it !!

I think it was called Chaweng Beach or something like that. Right on the Beach..
Then the other side of the hotel was the main strip with a Mc Donalds one side and a BK the other. Not very Thai i know but sometimes it came in handy expecially after a night partying
I'd also recommend Koh Samui; I've been to both places and while I enjoyed my few days in Phuket, Koh Samui is much nicer.
Can I also recommend daily uploads of your photos whilst in Thailand. I know it can happen anywhere but pick pocketing does happen. Both me and my friend had our camera's stolen 1 day before we left and to this day I haven't got over it, was gutted.. Learnt my lesson the hard way
Phuket boasts of lovely beaches, resorts, and other interesting activities. As a luxury travel destination -snip-, it takes pride in being the home of attractive and well-developed beaches such as Hat Patong, Hat Kalon, and Hat Kamala. In between these lovely beaches are numerous accommodations.
I suggest you enjoy the beauty of Phuket first, before heading to Koh Samui. Don't forget to indulge yourself in the local cuisines and get to know the interesting floral gardens in both locations.
