thailand money

hi i am going to thailand for 2 weeks and just wanted to know how much money roughly i would need to take with me? has nyone been before and what did you spend?

Impossible to answer accurately when you give no clue as to your travel style, where you're going, what you're doing, etc. It can be as cheap or as expensive as you wish...

Cheers,
Terry

well i want to do trips and stuff i was thinking 400 quid im going to koh samui and khao lak

Don't take much money with you just withdraw what you need from ATM machines.

"how much money roughly i would need to take with me? has anyone been before.."

Everyone spends money differently. Some tourists stay in expensive hotels and other tourists use cheap shared dorms. Same for eating and drinking - you can go cheap or choose expensive places for eating and drinking.

Bangkok is cheaper than many beach destinations when you consider the cost of local transportation.

Divide your available money by 14 days for a rough daily allowance. Figure out how much you want to spend on your hotel/hostel room - the rest is food, entertainment, transportation, etc.

Change your money in Thailand for a better rate. (No problem changing money 24 hours a day at major airports.) If you intend to use ATM's for cash tell your bank first. There is a fee to use an ATM of 150 baht per withdrawal. That fee is the same for 500 baht or for 10,000 baht. If you intend to bring cash take newer bills that are not worn, dirty or torn.

Pull up a map of Thailand and see where the places you are interested in are located. A Google check or travel guide can advise you on how to get there.

If you ever need hotel suggestions include the price you want to spend per night. Once you leave Bangkok therte are fewer hostels.

"has anyone been before.."

Millions and millions of tourists have been to Thailand before!
