I'm planning on going backpacking in Europe in mid 2010. As of right now, I'm only planning 3-4 months. Although I am open to it be longer, but I'm not sure how much cash it would be. The countries and cities I'm hoping to see are as follow:
im planning a backpacking trip about europe in 2010 too.
but i only have 2 months-ish so my route is restricted. i thought to go about helsinki (finland), Stockholm(sweden), Copenhagen(denmark), berlin(germany), warsaw(poland), starting and ending at st petersburg (russia). so it'll be like a loop.
but im open to other ideas and places as well.

Sounds fun! I am wanting to travel to Europe in 2010 as well and am saving up money right now. Would like to keep in touch and learn more about your plans. I have never done the whole backpacking thing, but would really love to explore the world and have fun.

Europe is relatively cheap to get around especially if you buy an interail card and make good use out of it. I have not done it myself but my sister did it last year and my cousin the year before. You can see a lot in a relatively short space of time. Someone said 2 months. 2 months is loads of time. Depending on your budget you can get some really cheap flights with ryanair, easyjet, whizzair, aerlingus, jet2, flybe
With Ryanair at the moment one way flights between loads of European cities is £15. It is possible to get flights for £1 or even free. Just make sure you keep checking the sites and book a few months in advance.
I cannot believe Ireland is not on those itineraries!!!
They loved Ljubljana (Slovenia), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary), Berlin (Germany), Paris (France) and Krakov (Poland).
I have been to Prague (Czech Republic) and it is beautiful and fun.

hey! i will be in europe for some of that time too, so will stay in touch. would be nice to get a group together to visit some big cities all together or something - i'm not too keen to the idea of going clubbing by myself...

Hi I feel like Im kind of late with this post, but I am planning to go through Europe starting March or April this year (2010). But was interested in going with someone or a small group that is flexible? It would make my family more comfy knowing That I wont be walking the lands of unknown alone...not to mention yes...clubbing is great idea with others :-)
Please let me know I am really flexible as to where to begin the journey and how long the trip maybe...and hopefully it will workout budget wise.
