Hi sandaruwan!
A tuk-tuk from Nong Khais train station to the Friedship bridge (20 km, 13 miles) costs about 50 Bath. Tourists normally cross the bridge (1,2 km, 0,75 miles) with the bus shuttle service which costs just a few Bath, depending on petrol prices. At Lao immigration you got to fill out a visa application form and pay about 30 US$ (plus a small surcharge for turning up during luchbreak / on a Sunday ), takes about half an hour. There's tuk-tuks, busses, mini-busses frequently leaving for Vientiane (20 km, 13 miles).

Thank you for the information

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I thought it could be the appropriate place to ask this question.
Just as the original poster, I will be arriving in Vientiane in a similar way. And as flynn adviced, after crossing the bridge there will be tuk-tuks etc leaving for Vientiane.
My question is, do these tuk-tuks and other vechicles accept Thai baht or US dollars? I will be carrying no Lao kip with me, as I cannot get it outside of Laos.
Cheers
