A bunch of friends and I are planning to go to Vancouver, Canada this summer for a 3 month holiday. We are all students and hope to work while we are there to fund our stay. We are all from Ireland and as there is a SWAP program between the 2 countries we can purchase Open Work Visas for 400 euros, allowing us to stay there up to a full year and work wherever we like and switch jobs if needed, without having a pre placed job before we go over...
As the bureaucratic process could take some time i'd get on it right away..

Americans can stay in Canada up to 6 months a year. You need a work visa to work in Canada. Vancouver has a lot of tourist so I would assume that it isn't difficult to obtain one.
