Peru advice?

Hello Grace,
Lima and Cuzco are very different. Lima on one side is a huge city with many entertainment alternatives that you might be used to in England (shopping malls, cinemas, clubs, fancy restaurants, etc.). For a long stay (more than a month) I will suggest to stay in Lima rather than Cuzco. But for a short stay, I recommend charming Cuzco. This city is small but full of character. It is a historic city and you can arrange multiple weekend trips to the surroundings from this city (rafting, horse-back riding, the sacred valley, etc.).

In regard to the jungle, you will have to decide first if you want to see the Amazon river or not. If you want to see the Amazon river you will have to fly to Iquitos. Otherwise, you can go anywhere because the rainforest is pretty much the same. I like Manu or Tambopata Nature Reserve (Puerto Maldonado) than Iquitos area because it is less developed, also it is not as hot and there are less mosquitoes.

Have a safe trip,
Ivan
