Hey can anyone reccommed a good place to stay in Ko Phi Phi....looking for something in lower price range where it is good to meet ppl.....close to the beach too if possible.......

Everywhere on Phi Phi is close to a beach!! I stayed at The Rock Backpackers Hostel when I was there in 2004. It was the cheapest back then, not sure now though. It has a great restaurant in a boat in the sky attached to it (this will make sense when you see it).

"Everywhere on Phi Phi is close to a beach!! " So true. Always helpful if you state the month in which you intend to visit as prices vary from low season to high. Anway, if I ever return the following are my (researched) options (use the prices as 2008/09 low season):

TIP: google the hotel/guesthouse/bungalow for latest traveller reviews.
OR
you can do what I did on my first visit (recommend for LOW season only), get off the boat, check out photos of accom. offered by touts or follow a tout to a travel agency (what I did) and check out photos of various accom.
thx for the replies guys.....ended up staying at garden inn for 700 baht per night.....bit out of my pirce range but at least the room was nice......
