Hi Dini,
I don't think it is a good choice if you book a twin room and share it with more than 2 peoples.
Child under 12 years old can treat as a exceptional case sometimes, depends on Hotel policy.
Hotel is able to call the police and asking for the extra fee.
I heard the extra fee in other destination can be more than one night accommodation fee. Please do not try to do this….
I think that apartment is most suitable for your situation?
You can book 2 rooms which have 3 bedrooms each?
I am sorry I don’t know too much about the Singapore apartment, I can’t give you a suggestion about the accommodation….

I will not do that then, and think of an apartment if I want to share a bed with some one else.
About the no.1 question.
I found out there are hostels that have several bed mixed dorms. That is a good option, if only I don't have children with me. First, they might won't like the idea of sleeping alone and second, I don't know if the hostel accept children. Do you have any suggestion for me about that?

Each and every property have their own houserules, and I think what you should do is to contact them directly and check with them re children. An obedient 10-years-old causes less trouble than a drinking-happy 20-years-old, whereas a few months old baby may cause disruption to other travellers if the baby is having discomfort and crying through the night. So the scenario can be very different from one to another.
From experience, hotels would usually take children (many even offering cots/smaller beds, some free, some at a small nominal charge) but as for hostels, they tend to cater to a majority of young adult travellers, so hostel may not be an ideal place to bring children to in the first place anyway.
Ps: as someone who currently doesn't have children nor travelling with children, I'm afraid I don't have any specific recommendations.
