2.5 weeks LA - Las Vegas - San Francisco

Dear All,

Hi Cara,

You might want to have a look at the Green Tortoise website, they're a backpacker type tour company that do quite a bit in the area you're looking at. I got their hostel hopper from LA to San Fran a couple years back and had such a laugh with everyone even though it was only a few hours!

Hope you have a fab time on your trip

Cara,
Greyhound would not be my first choice. The age old problem of time vs money. With limited time, I think it will chew up too much time waiting for buses to overcome any cost savings. I don't get the Lake Havasu part at all. You cannot go to Santa Barbara and then hit Havasu before Vegas. If you choose San Diego, then Havasu is possible via rental car, not on Greyhound. I have Havasu photos in my gallery. Without a boat, it is worth 2-4 hours IMO.

I would see the , the . Perhas the , then head for San Diego. Better beaches and more to do than Santa Barbara. Then rent a car and hit Havasu, Grand Canyon, Vegas. I would pass on Reno/Carson City. Drive through and on up to , and San Francisco are more worthy of your time IMO.

Send me a PM if you want help with Vegas.

Hi guys,

'Thanks for your replies, it's really helpful! I like the idea vegasmike, but sadly as I am only 23 and my boyfriend is only 24, we will be stung with huge fees renting a car (and we're on a pretty tight budget). I may need to look into some trips/tours instead.

Any more opinions would be welcomed!!

Cara
